What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you register on our site, place an order, subscribe to our newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out a form or use online tech support.

When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your: name, e-mail address, mailing address or phone number. You may, however, visit our site anonymously.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.

We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems, and are required to? Keep the information confidential.

After a transaction, your private information (credit cards, social security numbers, financials, etc.) will not be stored on our servers.

Do we use cookies?

No (Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computers hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service providers systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information

We do not directly use cookies, however, on our site and our blog third parties, such as AdWords, Twitter, or Facebook, may use cookies and collect data.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent - or in our case not even with your consent. We just won't share your information - plain and simple. (Okay, one exception: Subpoenas. Enough said.)

Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.

PayPal Processing

All orders via online payments are processed by PayPal. We do not hold nor have access to any information that you give PayPal except your e-mail address, IP address of the computer you used to submit the payment, and notification that the payment occurred. Some orders, such as gift certificates that need to be mailed, will require that we have your mailing address. We will not share or sell your mailing address and it is kept between PayPal and under password and encryption via our billing software.

Remote Tech Support

Our remote tech support is powered by LogMeIn(R) Rescue(TM) and is secured by a 2048bit RSA data key for us to login to our console, a 1024bit RSA data key to authenticate a remote session, and the session itself is encrypted by AES 256bit SHA to keep the session between you, the customer, and Credo Computer Repair and Services protected. At no time do we collect information except what is needed to solve your computer issue and we never need access to your private information or need to open a personal file unless you, the customer, grant us permission to do so if it is the personal file that is having issues. The entire session is recorded and secured on our local server and the entire chat between us, the provider, and you, the customer, is logged. We do hold all remote sessions for a minimum of one year and make them available to you at a nominal fee plus shipping and handling if requested to have the session placed on DVD.

Our WordPress Blog

Our WordPress blog located at http://www.credocomputers.com/blog/ shares information with Twitter and Facebook if you use the login with Twitter or login with Facebook features. The only information that we collect is the e-mail address associated with the account, the URL of the account, and the IP address used when leaving a comment. We do not use any of this information except via our blog itself and will not sell or share the information with another party except where applicable by law in extreme cases of abuse or other implications.
