Does your laptop not hold a charge?

Laptops were not designed to run without their battery.

illustration of battery with a red x through it to show it is deadSo why is your laptop not working when it’s not plugged in? It could be a bad power adapter or bad DC jack or charging port. The charging port is known to power the computer but not charge the battery, if the connection to the battery is the only part broken. But it’s typically best to remember Occam’s razor and figure the simplest answer is typically the answer. So, if you know it’s the battery it probably is.

Like any battery, its life eventually wears out leaving you with no reserves or limited battery life at best. At Credo Technology Group, LLC we can check your laptop for that bad battery or bad charging capability. Most batteries are special order (there are so many different laptop makes and models) and arrive within two days if ordered before 12pm.

Battery prices for PC laptops start at $25+tax (this includes Toshiba, HP, Sony, Acer, Asus, Lenovo, MSI, and a few other laptop batteries). Dell is a bit different and most Dell laptops like to have official, genuine Dell batteries, the pricing starts at about $55+tax. You can use generic batteries for a Dell if you don’t mind the laptop yelling at you, from time to time, that you don’t have a genuine Dell battery.

Apple MacBook batteries start at $40+tax for older models with easily removable batteries. The newer Apple MacBook Unibodies with internal batteries start at $150+tax and labor to open the MacBook and replace the internal battery.illustration showing battery is green and charged

The warranty on your battery depends on the type, cost, and brand. The least expensive batteries have a 90 day warranty with the most expensive ranging from 6 months to 1 year.
