Dust bunnies are cute but not in your computer.

Every three months, you should clear out the dust on your desktop.  Laptops should be cleaned once per month.  Credo will take care of those dust bunnies for $10.

What are some alternatives, you ask?  Well, a can of air is sufficient – although not “green”.  Vacuuming can help, to a point, but you take the risk of building a static charge because of the plastics used in the vacuum hose.

Laptops are more difficult to clean properly; desktops need to have the fuzz cleared out around the power supply, too, because it has a fan – many folks forget this because you can’t see it.

A typical laptop fan replacement is on average $150. Desktop power supplies range from $20 to $100 to replace.  Not blowing the system out also creates sudden shutdowns and other complications usually resulting in corrupting the operating system and can be prevented just by bringing it down to Credo Technology Group.
